Excerpt from the book
3.1.2 International franchising
In franchising, an organization, the so-called franchisor, has the prospect of giving an entrepreneur or a local company access to his business, brands and products. Under such an agreement, the franchisee assumes most of the risk involved in opening a modern location from his or her own capital investment and simultaneously benefits from the advantages of an already established brand name and operating process. In return, the franchisee repays a percentage of the company's profits to the franchisor. The franchisor will provide training, advertising and support during articles many times equally.
Franchising is a particularly useful practice when approaching multinational markets. For the franchisor, the multinational expansion and complex can be equally expensive, especially when the purchase of land and construction of equipment is required. Given the legal, cultural, linguistic and logistical barriers to entering different international markets, the franchising model offers a simpler and cleaner solution that can be implemented in a relatively short time. It is equally worth mentioning that franchising is an exceptionally efficient, cost-effective and directly implemented expansion strategy. Franchising alone requires exceptionally low capital investment on behalf of the parent company, and the time and effort required to structure the business is similar to outsourcing for the franchisee. Consequently, franchising can be a way to expand rapidly both domestically and internationally.
