How digital is today's leadership in view of time change? Which success factors speak for a good DL and what kinds of changes are needed with regard to everyday working life in companies? These and further questions are discussed in this paper.
The aim of this paper is to focus specifically on DL and at the same time to answer the question of how today's leadership and management can manifest itself in the digital world. For this reason, the topic of digitalisation, which consists of the relevance, as well as the definitions of digitalisation, leadership and the combination of both, will be analysed in more detail in chapter 2 at the beginning of this work. Furthermore, the changes in the general workday are also examined in a more thorough way. Taking into account the previously acquired knowledge, the paper then concentrates on the capabilities and success factors of DL based on DT. In addition, the paper also deals with a comparison of leadership and management and closes with the challenges. The theoretically based facts are then followed by the practical example of Google in chapter 4. After a short presentation of the company and its culture, the paper goes on to DL at Google. Finally, the work concludes with a summary of the main findings on the relevant topic in chapter 5, and at the same time also presents an outlook.

Excerpt from the Book
Digitalisation and Leadership
Both aspects are of the utmost importance in today´s economy, but a closer look at the terminology is necessary on the one hand to gain an understanding of the subject and on the other hand to be able to combine these two terms. The term " digitalisation " was first used in the 1971 edition of the North American Review. It dealt with the subject of the digitalisation of society on the basis of the possibilities and limits of computer-assisted research (Schallmo & Williams, 2018, p. 6). Nowadays, digitalisation means the reflection of services and products, processes, structures and business models in view of the fact that new technologies and working methods are used. The compilation of new working methods and technologies is to be emphasised here, which is to be regarded formally as catalyst for the change of the daily business. Moreover, there are four dimensions of digitalisation. On the one hand, this consists of the value chain, which achieves a high increase in productivity due to automation. Furthermore, the second dimension is the customer interface, concerning online marketing and its platforms. The third dimension includes the new business models created by digitalisation with regard to industry 4.0, as well as the combination of the dimensions mentioned above. The origin of all three dimensions mentioned before can be found in the fourth dimension, i.e. in the digitalisation of human creativity (human digitalisation). The success of a society and a company can only come through the use of all four dimensions of digitalisation (Volkens, Anderson, & Keese, 2017, pp. 26-27).
