Zusammenfassung Leseprobe Details

Sustainable design and green home building are defined to develop their meaning. Both definitions provided insight on the meaning in regards to efficient use of resources. In addition, the major projects, scope, size, financial performance, and active names of three firms are revealed. The names of three active firms include Mungo Construction, National Community Renaissance and Fore Property Company. Mungo Construction teamed with Columbia Housing Authority for the major project. The major project included LEED certification and revitalization of a community in a naturally smart location. LEED certification involved elements like using efficient irrigation, the use of minimal VOC (volatile organic compounds) products, dual flush toilets, optimum efficiency windows and HVAC systems. A firm called National Community Renaissance partnered with La Quinta Redevelopment Agency. Also, Fore Property Company joined CANV Construction and constructed a project. The project integrated fresh construction skills and methods that help reduce power and water (H2O) consumption. A graphical chart is located after the reference page for quick reference data.

Excerpt from the Book

Definition for Green Home Building

Green building is the procedure for forming constructions and using methods that are naturally dependable and resource-efficient during a construction’s existence. The process occurs from establishing to drawing, assembly, function, care, restoration and destruction. This craft increases and supplements the traditional construction pattern matters of thrift, usefulness, strength, and ease. Green construction is also known as environmental or optimum functioning assembling. Natural constructions are draft to decrease the whole effect for the construct atmosphere on mankind well-being and the usual setting with economically consuming power, water and other properties. One sample is that green building structures may combine maintainable ingredients in their construction (EPA, 2012).
