Socio economic conditions, floral and faunal diversity of Lulusar Dutipatsar National Park was determined through interviewing 35 native respondents during July 2011.The nomads come to the park area from June to August and graze their livestock on the pastures. About 60-70 herdsmen come every year for grazing their livestock. The main sources of income for native people are livestock rearing, tourism and private jobs. It was found that about 90% of the people living in kacha houses and 80% of the people were illiterate. No basic facilities were available for indigenous people and visitors. During the survey, plants were collected from the surroundings of the park, besides a good number of wildlife species is also present in the park. Due to the increase in population and livestock, the flora and the fauna of the park are decreasing day by day due to heavy grazing. Based on the results, it was concluded that the government should take immediate action on priority basis to conserve the biodiversity of the park.

Chapter Summaries
Introduction: This chapter introduces the Lulusar Dutipatsar National Park, located in the Naran Valley of Pakistan. It details the park's geographical location, altitude, and historical context, emphasizing its establishment in 2003 as the first national park on private land. The chapter highlights the park's unique beauty and the increasing pressure from overutilization and exploitation of natural resources, including erosion, pollution, and overgrazing, leading to the park's designation under the kpk Protection, Preservation, Conservation and Management Act 1975. The rich biodiversity of flora and fauna, including threatened species like the snow leopard and brown bear, is also introduced, setting the stage for the subsequent investigation into the park's ecological and socio-economic aspects.
Objectives: This section clearly outlines the primary goals of the research. It states the intention to catalog the park's flora, investigate its fauna, and ultimately provide recommendations for conservation and ecotourism strategies. This sets a clear direction for the research methodology and the interpretation of results presented in later chapters. The objectives guide the reader in understanding the scope and purpose of the study.
Material and Methodology: This chapter describes the research methods employed in the study, including a survey conducted in July 2011. The primary data collection involved questionnaires administered to local people and wildlife department staff to gather information on socio-economic conditions and biodiversity. The chapter details the methods for collecting and preserving plant specimens, referencing the use of a herbarium at Hazara University and the Flora of Pakistan for plant identification. The use of binoculars, maps, GPS, and questionnaires are noted, highlighting the practical aspects of fieldwork. The inclusion of secondary data sources, such as project documents and online resources, is also mentioned, demonstrating a multi-faceted approach to data acquisition.
Result and Discussion: This section begins the analysis of the data collected. It presents findings related to the demographic characteristics of respondents, including age, marital status, education level, and occupation. The data on income levels and household compositions are also analyzed. This initial presentation of demographic information lays the groundwork for a better understanding of the socio-economic context within which the floral and faunal diversity of the park exists. The chapter then discusses the implications of this data for understanding the human impact on the park's ecosystem.
Respondent's/Age, Martial Status, Educational Status and level, Educational and Level, Occupation and Monthly Income, House hold composition: These sections present detailed breakdowns of the survey respondent demographics. The data on age, marital status, education level, occupation, income, and household composition provide a comprehensive profile of the local population living near the Lulusar Dutipatsar National Park. This detailed demographic information is crucial for understanding the socio-economic context and how it may be influencing the conservation challenges and opportunities in the park.
Floral Diversity: This chapter focuses on the plant life found within the Lulusar National Park. It details the diversity of flora, including medicinal plants, shrubs, and herbs. The chapter provides tables listing specific plant species with their scientific and local names, as well as their families and types of vegetation. This information contributes significantly to the understanding of the biodiversity within the park, especially the rich variety of medicinal plants found in the region. The identification of these species contributes greatly to the overall understanding of the park's botanical richness.
