Summary Details

Vocabulary is the main tool for children in their attempt to use English effectively. While receiving the words through small talk by the role model teacher, different words in the foreign language can be learned. Several activities support the learners to get in touch with different chunks of language (ibid.). Especially in primary school the learners are sensitive to auditory media. Young children still have the impartiality and the ability to overhear the unknown words and to get the meaning from the context.

Some tasks help the learners to understand the vocabulary more confidently and to use them productively. Frequent repetition and practice of the words in ever new contexts are a prerequisite for permanent storage in the long-term memory. The children develop fun in playful, creative, imitative and action-oriented tasks. Normally children are fast in imitating the words or sentences very detailed. And exactly this ability should be used for learning new words.
