This review was focused to assess the current status of climate change impact on production and reproduction performance of Cattle under Global condition. Climate is one of the determining factors for production and reproduction in farm animals throughout the world. Its effect is higher in cattle than in other ruminants. Cattle, beef and dairy can be affected by heat stress, particularly in feedlot situations or when grazing fescue-infected pastures. Climate change affects both male and female reproductive performance of cattle by altering their physiological process. In contrast of this, cattle are the most contributors for climate change causes than other farm animal. To minimize climate change impacts on animal(cattle), the climate adaptation and mitigation measures such as diversification of animals (within species), using different crop varieties, and shifting to mixed crop-livestock systems, improving productive and reproductive indexes (reducing age on slaughter, age at first calving and calving interval), increasing the longevity of reproductive cows; improving the genetic merit, improving quality and type of feed and provide ventilation, water, and shading seem to be the most promising adaptation and mitigation measures.

Zielsetzung und Themenschwerpunkte (Objectives and Key Themes)
This review aims to evaluate the present impact of climate change on cattle production and reproduction under global conditions. It explores the various ways climate change affects cattle, focusing on both direct and indirect effects. The review also delves into mitigation strategies to counteract the negative impacts of climate change on livestock.
Zusammenfassung der Kapitel (Chapter Summaries)
The introduction of this review sets the stage by highlighting the significance of climate as a crucial factor in livestock production and reproduction. It underscores the detrimental effects of climate change on rural livelihoods, particularly in Ethiopia, where livestock plays a vital role in the economy.
The review of literature delves into various aspects of climate change's impact on cattle, ranging from its global implications to its effects on agro-ecological zones and food security. It examines the current status of climate change and cattle, exploring the direct effects on animal diseases, feed resources, and water availability. The review also delves into the indirect effects on cattle reproduction, particularly the impact of heat stress on both female and male reproductive performance.
Furthermore, the review explores mitigation strategies to combat climate change impacts on livestock. It examines the importance of adapting and mitigating practices, including diversification of animals, crop variety selection, and mixed crop-livestock systems. The review also discusses breeding strategies, farmers' perception, and adaptive capacity as crucial factors in addressing climate change challenges.
Schlüsselwörter (Keywords)
This review centers around the impact of climate change on cattle, focusing on production and reproduction performance. Key terms include cattle, climate change, reproduction, production, adaptation, mitigation, heat stress, and livestock management.
