Disruptive leadership stresses the implementation of disruptive innovation in organizations. The following report focuses in linking the relationship between disruptive leadership and a disruptive innovator. Relevant sub components were developed which were: Diplomat, Dynamic Innovator and Interpreter. Each sub component was further defined by 5 items. The theory was tested through an online questionnaire filled by a diverse group of participants. Reliability analysis and factor analysis on SPSS software enabled to validate the constructs. Finally 14 items defined the overarching construct of disruptive leadership. The results suggested that Disruptive leadership was closely linked to Transformational Leadership. However, linkages to Paternalistic Leadership styles mainly Moral character and Benevolence was unexpected. Lastly, the definition of creativity and its importance for a disruptive leader was defined.

Objectives and Research Themes
The primary objective of this study is to define the construct of "disruptive leadership" by identifying the behavioral traits of a disruptive leader and assessing their relationship with disruptive innovation. The research aims to develop and validate a measurement scale for this leadership style and examine its correlations with existing models like transformational and paternalistic leadership.
- Theoretical conceptualization of disruptive leadership
- Development of subcomponents: Diplomat, Dynamic Innovator, and Interpreter
- Quantitative empirical validation using SPSS and factor analysis
- Comparative analysis with established leadership theories
- Investigation of the role of creativity, benevolence, and moral character in disruptive leadership
Excerpt from the Book
Bottom Up Innovation
Executives at the top most level which have the power to drive innovation are seldom close enough to come up with or execute new ideas. Thus, they need to push responsibility down to the lowest level. Bottom up innovation is successful as it means enhanced employee commitment. However, top down innovation should not be ignored as it benefits from direct alignment from a company’s goals. Leaders should employ both the approaches to maximize a company’s potential. Moreover, they should provide sponsorship for this bottom up innovation to survive.
Summary of Chapters
Introduction: This chapter introduces the context of disruptive innovation in the corporate world and highlights the necessity for a specific "disruptive leader" profile, establishing the initial research dimensions.
Methods: This section details the development of the three subcomponents—Diplomat, Dynamic Innovator, and Interpreter—and explains the data collection process via an international online survey.
Results: This chapter presents the statistical validation of the theoretical construct through reliability and factor analysis using SPSS, ultimately refining the model to 14 items.
Discussion: This section interprets the findings, specifically analyzing the correlations between the new disruptive leadership construct and established models such as transformational and paternalistic leadership.
Conclusion: This final chapter synthesizes the research findings, confirming that the identified behavioral constructs effectively define a disruptive leader and hold promise for future academic application.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fundamental focus of this research?
The research explores the intersection of disruptive innovation and leadership, aiming to define and empirically validate the behavioral characteristics of a "disruptive leader" within an organizational context.
Which thematic areas are central to the work?
The core themes include disruptive innovation, leadership trait identification, employee-leader relations, and the alignment of innovative practices with organizational goals.
What is the primary goal of this study?
The primary goal is to establish a valid theoretical construct for disruptive leadership and to determine if it can be reliably measured through specific behavioral subcomponents.
What scientific methods were employed?
The authors utilized quantitative methods, including an online survey across seven languages, and applied reliability and factor analysis via IBM SPSS software to validate the theoretical model.
What topics are discussed in the main part of the report?
The main body covers the development of leadership subcomponents, the data collection methodology, statistical analysis of survey results, and a discussion regarding the model's correlation with existing leadership theories.
How would you characterize this work using keywords?
The work is characterized by terms such as Disruptive Innovation, Transformational Leadership, Moral Character, Creativity, and Organizational Success.
How did the initial theoretical model change after analysis?
The initial three-dimensional model (Diplomat, Dynamic Innovator, Interpreter) was found to be highly correlated, and factor analysis suggested that the 14 valid items represent one overarching disruptive leadership concept.
What were the unexpected findings regarding Paternalistic Leadership?
The study found a strong, unexpected correlation between disruptive leadership and the paternalistic traits of "Moral Character" and "Benevolence," suggesting that disruptive leaders are often perceived as caring and ethically conscious.
Why is "Dynamic Innovator" considered a crucial component?
The Dynamic Innovator subcomponent is considered central because it is most strongly linked to the core idea of disruptive innovation and correlates highly with other well-established leadership theories.
