Analysis of our Revolving Fund Proposal

This proposal was made by the Human Resources Manager, after wide consultations with the majority of the people. The principle of democratisation was used here. What to include in the proposal came from the workers themselves through the surveys that were carried. Several meetings on discussing the proposals were made. This is in line with what Heath and Miller (2004:4) say, "social reality is constructed by many voices, which may compete with one another to have a final say...Best practices suggest that one consistent theme needs to be voiced by the organization." This was enhanced by giving all interested people the platform to freely say what they want. To create a sense of ownership the people involved must be truly involved; they must as well feel that they are involved; and observers must see that they are really involved. Many leaders make the mistake of faking people when taking their views. They involve them on the paper but disown them on the ground. That must not happen at all. Heather and Miller (2004:4) add, "Analysis of the dialogue surrounding a crisis can be sharpened by giving attention to the narrative elements that emerge as various groups interpret the crisis." This shows the need to get what the people really want and implement it.
