Physical exercise is actually called a "miracle cure" technically, and it should be. Unlike most medication, whose purpose is a single condition, physical exercise is a master key to health and influences many body systems and reduces the incidence of many diseases. Its widespread application and low risk have rendered it one of the most effective and accessible interventions for enhancing the health of individuals and healthier communities. As seen by this essay, knowing the far-reaching health, social, and economic repercussions of physical inactivity renders the most important element of active living the primary issue throughout society. By recognizing its promise as a "miracle cure," policymakers, communities, and individuals are compelled to make more active communities a top priority — affirming that at the heart of public health success, physical activity is one of our most valuable, yet lesser harnessed, assets.
