Ziniaré, ville moyenne du Burkina Faso, connaît, à l'instar de nombreuses autres villes d'Afrique de l'Ouest, une croissance urbaine rapide et mal maîtrisée, tant sur les plans démographiques que spatial, ce qui a un impact considérable sur les besoins de mobilité. Le présent ouvrage se propose de dresser un état des lieux du système de transport urbain dans cette ville. S’appuyant sur une approche méthodologique combinant observation directe sur le terrain, entretiens qualitatifs et étude quantitative, la recherche met en lumière les moyens et infrastructures de transport existants dans la commune de Ziniaré, ainsi que les acteurs impliqués dans ce système. L’étude identifie également les principaux défis auxquels la ville est confrontée en matière de mobilité urbaine et formule des recommandations pour une amélioration durable du transport à Ziniaré.
Ziniaré, a medium-sized town in Burkina Faso, like many other towns in West Africa, is experiencing rapid and poorly controlled urban growth, both demographically and spatially, which is having a considerable impact on mobility needs. The aim of this book is to take stock of the urban transport system in this city. Using a methodological approach combining direct observation in the field, qualitative interviews and a quantitative study, the research highlights the existing transport resources and infrastructure in the municipality of Ziniaré, as well as the players involved in this system. The study also identifies the main challenges facing the town in terms of urban mobility and makes recommendations for sustainable improvements to transport in Ziniaré.
