Projects within the construction sector are characterized as fragmented, temporary and complex which inherently brings upon risk exposure. Decision makers within the industry need reliant access to information and knowledge in order to manage risks in a sufficient and systematic way. Thus, the implementation of an effective risk management in relation to managing associated project risk may facilitate successful construction project endeavours. The purpose of this master thesis is to explore and evaluate project risk management. The aim is to examine the recognition and practical adoption of risk management in order to investigate how project knowledge is utilized in the process.

Zusammenfassung der Kapitel (Chapter Summaries)
The introductory chapter defines risk management and its importance in construction projects, highlighting the complexities and uncertainties inherent in the field. It underscores the need for efficient risk management to mitigate unexpected events and ambivalences.
The literature review examines the concept of risk management, drawing upon various definitions and views from different authors. It explores the effectiveness of project management software like Primavera P6 in planning, monitoring, and controlling construction projects.
The scope, methodology, and purpose of the thesis are outlined in the subsequent chapter. The objectives of the project include assessing the significance of monitoring construction work, identifying effective management techniques, and determining critical activities that cause delays. The chapter also details the methodology used for data collection, including literature reviews, surveys, and the use of software like Primavera P6.
The chapter on Primavera introduces the software's features, including activity definition, duration determination, activity dates, activity cost calculations, and the creation of baselines for schedule updates.
The analysis chapter delves into the perception of risk and risk management among Swedish contractors, highlighting the contrasting views on risk as both an opportunity and a threat. The findings suggest a risk-neutral approach among professionals in the Swedish construction industry.
