The link between e-cigarette smoking and mental health disorders youth in the United among States (US) is a topic of concern. The purpose of this case study is to examine the relationship between the initiation of cigarette smoking, combustible cigarette, and dual-product use among US youth. The study aims to estimate the longitudinal association between noncigarette tobacco use and subsequent cigarette smoke initiation among youth.

The prevalence of mental health problems among youth with and without attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is significantly higher than that among youth without ADHD. The study also seeks to investigate whether internalizing and externalizing problems are associated with cigarette use and initiation age of regular use among adolescents. Furthermore, the study also examines the extent to which cigarettes can cause physical and psychological health problems.

The evidence suggests that there is an association between internalizing problems and cigarette usage among youth among the US. Further research is needed to fully understand this relationship.
